R&G Fluid Power Group (R&G Group) is now a member of The 5% Club, publicly stating their commitment to investing in their people and developing the earn and learn opportunities available across the fast-growing fluid power group.
The 5% Club is a movement of more than 1,000 employers to develop the skills and talents people need to become more employable and create meaningful careers. Companies joining The 5% Club commit to raising the number of apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formal programmes to 5% of their total workforce within five years.
Now employing 668 people across the group, this renewed focus on training and development will help R&G maintain a skilled workforce, fill skills gaps and create opportunities for the next generation in the communities they work within.
Emma Rowles, R&G Group Learning and Development Manager commented, “I have always been an advocate for lifelong learning and I’m passionate about fostering a culture of apprenticeships for all across the R&G Group.
“Joining The 5% Club is a logical next step for us as it is a commitment from myself and the R&G senior team to develop our earn and learn opportunities. Being involved in the initiative will help us to showcase to our current employees that an earn and learn opportunity could be the perfect path for their career development.”
With four divisions including Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Industrial and Seals – the R&G Group have a wide variety of current apprenticeships including welding, fabrication, electrical engineering, business and administration, digital marketing, procurement and senior leadership.
Commenting on the initiative, Richard Davies, MD of R&G Fluid Power Group, added, “As the R&G Fluid Power Group continues to grow and we invest in our group infrastructure, it is equally important for us to commit to investing in our people. Earn and learn options help us to bridge skills gaps, upskill our work force and create job opportunities in our businesses across the UK.
“The 5% commitment will keep us all focused on delivering this valuable training, I look forward to seeing how this develops across the group in the next five years”.
